Well that worked well.

In case you couldn’t guess I totally forgot after week one of camp that I was going to post stuff on here regularly. oh well. Maybe now that I have more time to figure this stuff out. But probably by the time I get good at Tumblr it will be time to leave for boot camp. And probably by the time I get back from boot camp there will be an all new form of social media that I will have to try and figure out. Oh life. What am I going to do with you? Now for some NaNoWriMo time!

Staff Training Week 1

Oh my goodness it is so nice to be back at camp finally. I’ve been having an absolute blast the last few days! It’s basically a refresher course for me because I’ve learned everything we’re doing in the CIT sessions I’ve done in past summers. We’ve done pack out meals (cooking over fires and propane stoves and such in the cabin units), gone over paperwork, how day camp works, climbing wall, nature walks, leadership games/challenge course (i did a special class to be a challenge course specialist. That was new and exciting!! (mostly because there was a cute guy from the boy’s CYO camp down the road taking the class too. lol)) and today we went to Remlinger’s Farm which is right next to River Ranch. Then we got to go to horse country and ride the horses which was AMAZING!!! I used to be afraid of horses because when I was little I had some bad experiences with them and last year was the first time I’d even be on a horse and I never went faster than a walk. But today they said I looked really confident (which I wasn’t) and was doing really well (woot woot!!) so i got to trot and lope which was SUPER EXCITING!! Words can not describe how excited I was. Then when I got off the horse I was all like “yeah! we were a good team sussie! (the horse’s name) that was awesome!” and then she wiped her eye buggers all over my shirt…. which i thought was rather rude. but oh well. Anyway…. After that I got to sit on the floor of the lodge and do the book work for Small Craft Safety til my butt was numb and then I got to continue for another two hours. woot… well I’ve got to go to bed so i’m not dead tired for second half of staff training. Peace out girl scouts :D

tumblrbot asked: WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

Alaska. I have always been fascinated by its beauty. There’s so much to explore and so few people. I want to see the Northern Lights, the Iditarod, and the long snowy nights.

Saying ‘I notice you’re a nerd’ is like saying, ‘Hey, I notice that you’d rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you’d rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?’ In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even ‘lame’ is kind of lame. Saying ‘You’re lame’ is like saying ‘You walk with a limp.’ Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he’s done all right for himself. John Green from the Vlogbrothers
